terms

the deal,in plain words.

The terms for working with real Tuesday, written the way we would explain them on a call. No traps in the fine print.

what these terms cover

These terms apply to this website and to work real Tuesday does for you. When we take on a project, the specifics live in a written proposal or statement of work. If anything in a signed proposal conflicts with what is here, the proposal wins for that project.

how we scope and price

We price before we start. You get a fixed scope and a fixed number, and you approve both in writing before any work begins. If the scope changes along the way, we tell you what the change costs and wait for your go-ahead before doing it, rather than surprising you on an invoice later.

paying for the work

Unless a proposal says otherwise, projects are invoiced in stages: a deposit to begin, and the balance at agreed points through the work. Invoices are due within the window noted on the invoice itself. If an invoice goes unpaid past that window, we may pause work until it is settled, and we will always tell you before we do.

what you own

Your domain and hosting are registered in your name, not ours. We set them up and manage them for you, and if you ever want to leave, you change the password and we are out. Once a project is paid in full, the work we deliver for you is yours to keep and use. We keep the right to reuse the general tools, techniques, and know-how behind it, and to describe the work at a high level in our own portfolio unless you ask us not to.

what we need from you

The work goes as fast as the answers do. We rely on you for timely feedback, access to the accounts and information a project needs, and a single person who can make decisions. If we are waiting on you, timelines move to match.

revisions and timelines

Every project includes a defined round of revisions, spelled out in its proposal. Dates we share are honest estimates, not guarantees, and they assume the inputs above arrive on time. If something outside anyone's control shifts the schedule, we will talk it through with you rather than let a date quietly slip.

if we part ways

Either of us can end an engagement in writing. If you stop a project partway, you pay for the work done up to that point, and you keep everything already delivered and paid for. We would rather part cleanly and keep the relationship than hold anything hostage.

the limits

We do careful work, but we cannot promise a specific business outcome, and we are not responsible for problems caused by third-party services, or by changes made to our work after we hand it over. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any engagement is limited to what you paid us for that engagement. This does not limit anything that cannot be limited by law.

the law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which real Tuesday operates. If a disagreement ever comes up, the first step is a real conversation. We will always try to sort it out directly before anything more formal.

changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version lives here with a fresh date below. Work already underway stays on the terms in place when it started.
